Azerbaijani city of Gandzha to be European Youth Capital-2016
Gandzha was elected to be the European Youth Capital in 2016, said Peter Matyasic, the head of the European Youth Forum.
According to his story, Gandzha has won the contest for the title of the European Youth Capital-2016 from the cities of Vilnius (Lithuania), Varna (Bulgaria), Galway (Ireland), La Laguna and Badajoz (Spain).
The title of the "European Youth Capital" is awarded to a city for a year, during which the city has the opportunity to conduct international cultural, sporting, social and political activities for young people.
On November 22, in Gandzha, in honour of the decision adopted by the European Youth Forum, hundreds of young people bearing state banners made a march from the city park "Khan Bagy" to the city's main square.
As reported by the "Vesti.az", the participants of the march have stated that their city had acquired the chance to hold various actions with the participation of young men and women from European countries.
