Prosecution failed to provide evidence of Rasul Kudaev's involvement in attack on Nalchik, his advocates assert

The testimonies of witnesses and defendants indicate that the criminal case against Rasul Kudaev, accused of involvement in the attack on Nalchik, had been fabricated, since the alibi of Kudaev was confirmed by several witnesses, his lawyers said in the debates. According to Oleg Orlov, a member of the Board of the HRC "Memorial", Kudaev's innocence is obvious.

Let us remind you that the prosecution considers Kudaev's guilt proved and offered to sentence him to life imprisonment in a special security colony.

The lawyer Batyr Akhilgov, who is working under agreement with the HRC "Memorial", drew the court's attention to the video record of interrogation of Zubeir Sozaev, where the latter tried to say that Rasul Kudaev was not involved in the above attack, "however, the investigator stopped him." The lawyer believes that this protocol should be recognized as inadmissible evidence, as citizen's rights were violated in this case.

The case files have a record of Rasul Kudaev's interrogation as a suspect, in which he partially admitted his guilt; however, it was also made under torture, the lawyer is convinced.
