Incident at Leninkent mosque was arranged by provocateurs, believers assert
After the incident that happened in the Dagestani settlement of Leninkent, when parishioners clashed at the central mosque, the Imam of the mosque was dismissed. This was announced by Magomed-Rasul Omarov, the spokesman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of Dagestan during a press conference organized by the Committee to Counteract Lawlessness and Arbitrariness named after Kamalov. The event was attended also by representatives of non-traditional Islam.
Let us remind you that on November 15 believers were not admitted to the mosque in Leninkent to their Friday prayer; and a brawl burst out at the building. According to the press service of the MIA of Dagestan, after the incident six persons were hospitalized in Makhachkala with stab wounds. The Friday fight near the mosque took place among the followers of the so-called "traditional" Islam and Salafis, said the MIA.
According to Magomed-Rasul Djambatyrov and Gadjigishi Bambatov, activists of the neighbourhood community of the Kumyk people of Dagestan named "Atlyboyunskaya", the believers were not admitted to the central mosque by unidentified persons in masks; they insulted believers and provoked them to a brawl.
The Mufti of Dagestan is concerned about the current situation; he met residents of Leninkent and activists of the Association "Akhlyu-Sunna" to settle the issue, said Magomed-Rasul Omarov.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported about the dialogue among different trends of Islam, existent in Dagestan, which involved the scientists of the above Association "Akhlyu-Sunna". In particular, in May 2012, adherents of different trends in Islam agreed to settle disputes and differences through dialogue.
