Assassination attempts on 2 Chechen officials

An assassination attempt on the Chechen Deputy Interior Minister Sultan Saduyev and Deputy Justice Minister Mussa Yevsultanov was made in Grozny.

"When a motorcade with government officials was passing 1st Sadovaya Street in Grozny's Leninsky district on Thursday night, an explosive device blasted on the roadside," a source at the Interior Ministry said.

The high-ranking officials, their companions and local residents did not suffer from the explosion.

Criminal investigation of the attempt has been launched.
