3000 citizens of Syria receive entry visa to Armenia

In January-July this year, the Armenian authorities issued 3000 visas to citizens of Syria, said Tigran Balayan, the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia.

In total, during the first half of this year 3000 Syrian citizens of Armenian nationality addressed the Police of Armenia for obtaining Armenian citizenship. That is, the citizens of Syria who have received entry visas to Armenia also receive Armenian citizenship, the "Echo of the Caucasus" reports.

However, no mass inflow of Syrian Armenians to Armenia is observed, said Firdus Zakarya, the head of Coordination Working Group of the Ministry of Diaspora of Armenia on the Matters of Syrian Armenians.

According to his story, it seems that Syrian Armenians have arrived in Armenia for some time period, in order to stay away from the conflict zone, the "Panorama.am" reports.
