Sentencing on case of torture at Ingush MIA scheduled for August 17
Today, at the trial held in Ingushetia on the case of torture at the republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs, the court granted several motions of the parties, followed by the debates.
In the course of the today's session, the petition moved by Nalgiev was satisfied to add the statement of his recognition to be a victim of the explosion on January 13, stated at the previous session, to the materials of the case.
Let us remind you that the bomb was triggered in the village of Surkhakhi, Nazran District, at the moment when Nalgiev came up to the gate of his house. The ex-head of the criminal police was taken to the intensive care unit.
Also, the prosecutor's petition to add the protocol of the interrogation of Pliev, who disproved Nalgiev's alibi, to the case files was satisfied.
Then, the debates took place. The prosecutor asked 10 years of the minimum security colony for Guliev and 13 years – for Nalgiev. The sentencing will take place on August 17.
On January 12, Guliev and Nalgiev said in their interview to the PIK Georgian TV Channel, that they got into prisoner's dock "solely because of squabbles around oil." However, Svetlana Gannushkina, the chair of the "Civil Assistance" Committee, wrote in her article "Ingushetia. Any Means to an End", that the defendants were trying to give a political nature to the case, while the "torture and tyranny committed by them have nothing to do with oil."
