Abkhazia establishes points to collect assistance for victims of flooding in Krasnodar Territory

Sukhumi, the capital of Abkhazia, formed two points for collection of assistance for residents of the Krasnodar Territory, affected by the flooding. Those points take the most necessary things, including insect killers against mosquitoes, respirators and gauze bandages, drinking water, rubber foot wear and gloves, and medicines.

The action is supported by the association "Inva-Promotion", which opened a point for collection of assistance in its office.

Besides, in the evening of July 12, activists from the Union of Sisters of Mercy of Abkhazia leave for Krymsk as volunteers. They will bring with them medicines for the victims. The group consists of five persons, led by Guram Shoua, an experienced surgeon.

"We had communicated with the headquarters in Krymsk in advance to clarify what, first of all, we should bring the list of medicines, bandaging materials, etc.," said Marina Gumba, an activist of the association.

A car to transport medicines was provided by the Department for Emergencies of Abkhazia. Besides, 2 members of the rescue team of the Department for Emergencies will go with the sisters of mercy.

It should be noted that on July 9, in the telegram of condolence, addressed to Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, Alexander Ankvab, President of Abkhazia, emphasized that the republic was ready to render any possible assistance to the Krasnodar Territory in overcoming the consequences of the disaster, including welcoming children and adults at the Abkhazian sanatoria.
