"Sochi-2014" promises to have Olympic objects ready in 2012
All the objects for competitions of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics will be ready for operation in 2012, which will allow running two full-fledged seasons sporting events in the complexes built for the Games. It was stated today in London by Dmitri Chernyshenko, President of the Organizing Committee "Sochi-2014", at the opening of the International Congress "Global Sport Industry".
"More than 20,000 people work 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, creating the basis for the most innovative Games in history. In 2012, all the sporting Olympic venues will be put into operation, allowing holding two full-fledged seasons of trial competitions," said Mr Chernyshenko, who is quoted on the website of the "Sochi-2014" Organizing Committee.
In 2012-2013, the "Sochi-2014" Committee plans to hold 74 competitions, of which 29 will be international. The list of events will include five world championships; and the number of participating athletes will exceed 5000 persons. It will enable giving due evaluation to the quality of Sochi infrastructure.
