Azerbaijan Interior Ministry promises to punish organizers and participants of riots in Baku

Azerbaijan authorities intend to conduct a complete inquiry into the mass riots that happened in Baku on October 15-16, after the presidential election, and to punish the guilty. Azerbaijan Interior Minister Ramil Usubov announced it while meeting with a PACE delegation on November 18.

Bodies conducting the investigation established that leaders of the opposition Musavat Party and Azerbaijan Democratic Party had planned the mass riots of October 15-16 in Baku beforehand. Main organizers and participants of these illegal actions will certainly appear in court, reads the statement published by the Interior Ministry.
